About the Michelin Guide
What makes this iconic guide book such a reference in the world of gastronomy and fine dining ?
It all started more than a century ago. The tire company was looking for a way to make travelling by car the new standard. First, they decided to help drivers plan their trip : where to find parking spots, petrol station and places to eat.
Years after years, their Michelin Guide grew in influence. People loved it so much that in 1926, the team started rating restaurants by awarding them stars.
That’s when the Michelin Guide as you know it came about. Today, the little red book has rated all the best restaurants St Tropez France, in addition to its 30 000 establishments in over 30 countries. In conclusion, the Michelin guide is a best-seller around the world. It has sold over 30 millions copies.
