L’ Acacia restaurant

Last season, Alain Lamaison, passionate and maestro of gastronomy, had set himself a challenge : “to reenchant the gourmet flavours of the Mediterranean”. The youngest starred chef in France with La Petite Bretonnière in Paris in the 90s helped put l’Acacia, Chateau de la Messardiere restaurant, on the map, through the refinement of his creations.

This year, Giovanni Amato becomes the new chef of the Château de la Messardière in Saint-Tropez. His cuisine claims a fusion with the seasons. Book your table at the gastronomic restaurant “Acacia” and by the pool “A Ciel Ouvert”.

The restaurant at the Château de la Messardière is opened to both the hotel’s guests and the many non-resident guests at all times.

The history behind the label

The Château de la Messardière is set in Saint-Tropez. It was built in the 19th century and offered as a wedding gift to Henry Brisson de la Messardière and Louise Dupuy d’Angeac. There, the couple raised their seven children. At the untimely death of Henry Brisson de la Messardière, his widow decided to transform the premises into accommodation for distinguished guests.

During the Roaring Twenties, the castle hosted sumptuous receptions and social evenings, but its owner unfortunately had no sense of management and the estate began its decline. Several times sold, the castle did not manage to find its former lustre.

Then, starting from 1989 under the guidance of J.C Rochette, chief architect of the Historical Monuments, the castle was enlarged and restored.

In 1992, it was bought by a French hotel group, which today has turned it into a five-star hotel, necessarily a luxury hotel, which can boast the label of “palace”.
